John W. Garratt, Sr., 82, of Bluffton, SC passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026 at May River Landing of Bluffton.
John was born February 5, 1944 in Cleveland, OH to the late Harold Garratt and Anne Garratt. He was a proud graduate of Ohio State University and a faithful Buckeyes fan. He had a successful career spanning over 4 decades where he led multiple manufacturing companies through transformation and growth.
John and his wife, Patricia, relocated to Bluffton from Ohio in 2010. In Bluffton, they made lasting friendships and John enjoyed golfing the fairways of the Lowcountry.
In addition to his wife of 27 years, Patricia “Patti” Garratt (nee Polder), John is survived by his sons, John W. Garratt, Jr. (Bridgett) of Franklin, TN, David Garratt (Elizabeth) of St. Augustine, FL, and Matt Garratt (Anne) of Portola Valley, CA, from his first marriage to Judith Garratt; step-sons, Timothy Murphy (Barbara) of Greenbelt, MD and Scott Murphy (Cindy) of Colgate, WI; step-daughter, Bernadette Murphy of Burlington, KY; grandchildren, Jack, Maggie, Isabella and Stella Garratt; and step-grandchildren, Sean, Kevin, Ethan, and Seth Murphy.
