Frederick (Freddie) John Anderson Sr., 79, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Freddie was born on August 6, 1945, in Savannah, Georgia. He lived and worked on Tybee Island, owning the well-known Freddie's Service Station until his retirement in 2021.

In 1962, Freddie married the love of his life, Catherine (Cathy) Owen, and they shared 62 years together. They had three children. Freddie was a kind-hearted man who cherished life, family, and friends. He never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Freddie was a devoted member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and volunteered for many years with the MRS and Tybee Island Fire Department.

In addition to his wife, Catherine, Freddie is survived by his son, Johnny Anderson (Robin) of Vidalia, Georgia; two daughters, Beth Anderson and Andrea Love (Clint), both of Wilmington Island, Georgia; brother, Donald Anderson (Nancy) of Tybee Island; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Leon Anderson and Eloise Arnsdorff Anderson, and his brother, Arte Leon Anderson.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Fox & Weeks Islands Chapel. A memorial Mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at St. Michael's Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Freddie's memory to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416, or St. Michael's Catholic Church, 802 Lovell Ave, Tybee Island, GA 31328.
