Frederick Armona Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 26, 2026.
Frederick Armona, age 86, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026. He was born, November 7, 1939, in Paterson, New Jersey, to the late Margaret (Duff) Armona and John Armona. Frederick lived a full life defined by love, family, and lasting friendships. Frederick is preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie Antonia Armona, brother, John Armona Jr., and his sister, Joan Foglia.

In his younger years, Frederick enjoyed caddying, which sparked a lifelong passion for golf. He remained an avid golfer throughout his life and could often be found talking about the game, along with stories of work and the "good old days." Frederick dedicated much of his career to Missbrenner Inc., where he worked faithfully until the company's closure in 2000.

He was married to the love of his life for 66 wonderful years. Together, they began their life in North Haledon, New Jersey, where they formed lifelong friendships that became like family. They later moved to Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, where they raised their children before retiring to North Carolina.

Frederick was a devoted father to his four children: John Armona (Diane), Daniel Armona (Gloria), Donna Haudek (Bill), and Paula Aldighieri. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and a loving great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren.

He had a deep love for camping, traditional beefsteak dinners, and New Year's Eve parties, and he was always ready for a good time. Known for his sense of humor, one of his favorite expressions was "whatchamacallit," a word that will forever bring smiles to those who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
