Fred is a reminder of how quickly life passes by. He and his lovely wife Candy have been the loveliest neighbors anyone could hope for. Always kind and thoughtful, it was a joy to be in their home and experience the warmth and joy they shared with everyone. Dennis and our son Bridger were home teachers to Fred and Candy for three years and loved the feellngs of love and harmony they experienced inside the Berthrong home. A tremendous asset to our community, Fred was a great organizer who could always be relied on to ensure every task was completed with dignity. Converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fred and Candy fortified the testimonies of many others through their brilliant minds and pleasant personalities. They were especially charming with children and youth. While Candy served as president of the Primary children, Fred and his co-teacher John Vanderford were brilliant examples of the adage "Goodness is its own reward." They explained that we don't need a reward for being good because BEING GOOD is the best reward of all! No one will ever forget them and their wonderful lessons. Fred left an indelible imprint by inspiring others to be their best, kind, reliable, and a barrel of fun! Our world won't be the same without him. He will be greatly missed.

Fred is one of the real princes in this world. He was always so kind and generous. He exhibited an amazing love for serving others. Fred will be missed until we meet again.
