Frederick Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brewitt Funeral Home, LLC - Raymond on Jan. 28, 2026.
Frederick R. "Butch" Brown, of Deerfield, New Hampshire, died of natural causes on January 22nd, at the age of 82.
Butch was born in Allston, MA. and spent his early years there. At the age of eight, he moved in with his sister in Deerfield, NH, where his love of the outdoors began. He quickly learned how to hunt, fish and ride horses, as well as help with the various farm animals. Butch thrived in the country and loved the wilderness he so lacked in Allston.
When Butch graduated from the 8th grade at the George B. White School, he went right to work to help his family. He began at Spaulding and Frost Cooperage in Fremont, where he met his future wife, Sally Blye. Butch then went on to work on bridge maintenance, eventually turning to the plumbing trade. He worked with Paul O'Neal, owner of the hardware store in Deerfield, then with his good friend, Joe McHugh. Upon Joe's death, Butch took over Joe's plumbing business as Nu-Way Home Services, working in many Deerfield homes, as well as in the surrounding towns. If you owned a cottage on Pleasant Lake, chances are Butch was whom you called to close it up for the winter.
Butch was a man of many talents, whether it was lending a helping hand, working with animals, or building his family's log cabin (where John and his wife now live), with wood from the land the house sits upon. He always provided for his family, and was quick to learn something new. Butch leaves behind many close friends, who carry numerous tales of their days with him.
Butch is survived by Sally, his loving wife of 61 years, as well as a son John (Linda) and a daughter Lisa. He had ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Sarah (Vienot) and John Brown, as well as four older siblings. Per his request, there will be no calling hours, although a Celebration of Life will take place in the spring in Deerfield (date and location to be announced).
The Brown family would like to extend their deep appreciation for High Pointe Hospice Care in Haverhill, MA, https://www.tuftsmedicine.org/get-care/locations/high-pointe-house. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to the charity of your choice.
