Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, on September 6, 1943, to the late John J. Conroy and Bridget A. (Guy) Conroy, Fred died on December 13, 2025, at the age of 82 years.
He was the loving brother of Sister Catherine A. Conroy, SCH, and Sister Lillian A. Conroy, SCH, all of Wellesley Hills, Rev. Francis X. Conroy of Houston, Texas, and the late John F. Conroy, Thomas A. Conroy., and Sister Mary A. Conroy, SCH.
The family expresses our gratitude to many people who helped Fred along his journey including: The Carmelite Sisters of Marian Manor, South Boston; VNA Senior Living, Somerville; the physicians, nurses and aides at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston; and the A.A. groups in New York City, Boston, and Somerville.
Special appreciation to Andrew Connolly and John Maftery, and the A.A. community for their loving kindness and support of Fred. We also extend our appreciation to our relatives and the many friends of Fred.
After completing many years of suffering, Fred’s soul has now been received by our loving Father/God. May his soul live forever in an eternity of joy.
A Funeral Mass for both Fred, and his late sister, Sister Mary A. Conroy, SCH, who died on December 19, 2025, will be celebrated at the Residence of the Sisters of Charity of Halifax, 125 Oakland Street, Wellesley Hills, on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 10:45 A.M.

A private interment for Fred will be held with his late parents in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree, at a later date.
