Frederick J. DeWitt of Maple Shade passed away on Sunday October 5, 2025 at the age of 85. He was born in Philadelphia on December 22, 1939 to the late Edward and Florence DeWitt. Fred proudly served his country in the US Navy and retired as Co-Owner/Salesman at Wynn’s Bolt and Screw Company. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Merchantville. Fred had many hobbies including his love of old cars, particularly mustangs and attending car shows, gardening, watching old movies and the news. He also enjoyed listening to music, his favorite being the Beatles. Fred took great pleasure in trips to the shore and loved his faithful dogs Shotzy and Kima.
Beloved husband of Elizabeth "Betsy" DeWitt (nee Beers), loving father of Beth (Joseph) Testa and Frederick (Lisa) DeWitt, cherished Opa of Alexandra, Erin and Freddy, cherished great Opa of Arlo, dear brother of Richard (the late Barbara) DeWitt, and the late Edward DeWitt, special brother-in-law of Joan (Edward) McKnight and also leave behind many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and visitation with his family on Saturday October 11th, 10-11 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 36 W. Maple Ave., Merchantville, NJ. His funeral service will follow 11 AM at the church. Interment will be in Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated in Fred's name to Trinity United Methodist Church at the above address. Arrangements by the MARK C.
