Frederick Perry Hettrick III, lately of Lexington KY, by way of Sharon PA (with various stops around the country, during which he collected wives, children, and more stories than he ever could - or would - tell) set off for parts unknown sometime in the early morning hours of September 11, 2025.

At 74, he had been many things to many people, (some of which and whom he even enjoyed), but even his deep love of family, nature, military history, gunsmithing, and Yellowstone were starting to lose their allure, and he passed his last year as a congenial curmudgeon, being rarely impressed, though often amused, by existence.

He is survived by 3 of his 4 children, (Bub and thegoddamhippie and the other one) who are scattered across the country; 5 equally scattered grandchildren (including his pride and joy, The Marine); an unruly russian dwarf hamster whom he called "the commie"; and the one ex-wife who managed to outlive him.

Services will be nonexistent, as the only funeral he was interested in is Viking and no longer practiced - or legal. (And he did, infact, die mad about that).

Fred, aka Duke, lived a hard but colorful life, loved and was loved by (most of) his family, and will be (mostly) fondly remembered. He was looking forward to whatever comes next and hoping that there would be whiskey.

Care Cremation and Funeral Service is honored to be entrusted with final care.
