HUTZLER, Frederick William "Fred"- Age 78, of Swartz Creek, passed away April 16, 2025. A Committal Service with Military Honors will take place 1:00 PM Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Great Lakes National Cemetery 4200 Belford Road, Holly. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home Miller Road Chapel 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Memorial Contributions in Fred's memory would be appreciated to The American Diabetes Association or to The Autism Society.
Fred was born August 29, 1946 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Earl and Gertrude (Timmer) Hutzler. He married Valerie A. Valentine in Tucson, AZ on July 29, 1976. Fred proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War. He was employed as a Material Specialist with Bechtel Corporation and retired after 30 plus years of service with them. Fred enjoyed watching sports of all kinds. He also enjoyed reading, playing games on his tablet and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Fred is survived by his wife, Valerie; daughter, Amanda Hutzler; and son, Brian Hutzler; grandchildren, Sierra Hutzler, and Mason Ingram; his sister, Patricia (Don) Visnick; and several nieces and nephews.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Gertrude Hutzler. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
