Frederick Lynn Irwin, born on August 21, 1959, in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully in his home on December 1, 2025, at the age of 66.
He was the son of Frederick C. Irwin and Shirley E. Irwin. He was a lifelong resident of Curwensville, where he enjoyed a fulfilling life dedicated to family.
Fred graduated from Curwensville High School class of 1977 and built a career as a laborer, working with Martell Glass and Walmart, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Outside of his professional life, he was an avid sports fan, with a particular passion for the Dallas Cowboys, often sharing his enthusiasm with family and friends.
A remarkable athlete in his youth, Fred was a standout wrestler for the Golden Tide. He achieved great success in the sport, earning the title of a three-time District 9 champion, two-time AAU State Champion, and a two-time State qualifier. His love for sports transcended his own participation, as he cherished the bond it created with his loved ones.
Fred found joy in family gatherings, particularly picnics filled with laughter and competitive cornhole tournaments. He relished taking the scenic back roads of Pennsylvania, enjoying the beauty of his home state and creating memories along the way. One of his most treasured moments was watching "The Showdown" between Sugar Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns live at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, an experience he often recounted with excitement.
Above all, Fred was devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Erica Warfield; siblings, Cindy Hoyle, David Irwin, and Brian Irwin; and his cherished granddaughters, Kaelyn Warfield and Korinne Warfield. The birth of his daughter and granddaughters brought him immense pride and happiness, marking the highlights of his life. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved spending time with.
Fred's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy of love, passion, and commitment to family and will always be remembered. He will be missed dearly.
Frederick was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister Mona Irwin.
