Frederick Edward Papke Jr.

Frederick Edward Papke Jr of Northbridge MA, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather passed away on December 13th, 2025 at age 89.

Born in Astoria Queens, Frederick was the only child of Elizabeth and Frederick Papke. As a child, Frederick lived across NYC attending High School at De La Salle Institute in Manhattan and then attending Manhattan College on scholarship. He graduated Manhattan College Eta Kappa Nu with his degree in Electrical Engineering. While in College, Frederick met and later married wife Jennie and remained happily married until her passing 63 years later. After college he served as an Infantry Reservist for three years in the Army National Guard. Over his lifetime he resided in NYC, NJ, CT, and MA. In their early years the two owned and operated a dry cleaning business in Danbury while becoming established.

Above all else, Frederick was a father focused on caring for his family. His career was as a proposal technical writer from which he retired from Raytheon in his 50s. Complementing being family focused, he had an interest in photography and for many years he could not be seen without a camera in his hand. He was involved in the early years of each of his grandchildren. His Catholic faith was with him throughout his life and through his final years at Notre Dame. Frederick passed with his two children at his side; now with Jennie for eternity.

Frederick is survived by: daughter Catherine and her fiancé Leonard of Northbridge, son Frederick of Milford, grandchildren Kristen, Brittany, Michelle, Lauren, and Michael, great-grandchildren Stella, Evelyn, Evan, Autumn and another expected soo

Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026 from 10:00-11:00 am from the BUMA Funeral Home, 480 Church Street, Whitinsville followed by a Funeral Service at a 11:00am

Burial will follow at Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Providence Road, Route 122,Whitinsville.
