Frederick C. “Fred” Pilon, 77, of Albion, NY, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025, at Medina Memorial Hospital.
Born on March 21, 1947, in Albion, Fred was the beloved son of the late Charles and Bertha (Vendetta) Pilon. A hardworking and dedicated man, he proudly carried on his family’s legacy as the second-generation owner and operator of Pilon Construction. His career began as a heavy equipment operator, a passion that never faded, even in his later years. Through his tireless dedication, he laid the foundation for the company’s continued success, leaving a lasting impact on the industry and those he worked with. His greatest accomplishment was building a thriving business, as it was what fueled his drive and determination.
Fred lived life to the fullest, always embracing hard work and the simple joys of family and tradition. He especially cherished holiday celebrations, treasuring the time spent with loved ones. In his younger years, he had a love for racing and classic cars, spending countless hours behind the wheel of his prized 1971 hot rod, affectionately named “Rambunctious.” His enthusiasm for life, strong work ethic, and unwavering dedication to his family defined him, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and passion.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shirley Collichio. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol, and their loving children: Julie (Bob) Gibbs, Kevin (Elizabeth) Pilon, Karen (Chris) Kinter, Stephanie Pilon, Jason (Melissa) Pilon, and Spencer Pilon. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his sister, Sue Pilon, nephews, and numerous cousins.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, March 21st, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, 21 West Ave, Albion, NY 14411. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, W. Park St., Albion, on Saturday, March 22nd, at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Fred’s honor to the Genesee Orleans Ministry of Concern, 29 East State Street, Albion, NY 14411, or the St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery Fund, 106 S. Main St., Albion, NY 14411.
