Frederick Suter

Frederick V. Suter, 77 of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away peacefully amongst his family on Thursday February 29th, 2024.

Fred was born on December 19,1946 in Tarrytown, New York to Louise and Frederick W. Suter. Fred graduated from Peekskill High school and went on to attend the University of Wisconsin and Marist College for his undergraduate degree. He went on to further his education even more, receiving master’s degrees from both Columbia and Fordham.

For over 50 years, Fred worked as Psychologist in New York and South Carolina.  Fred married Jean (Chase) on June 2,1985. Jean pre-deceased him by a mere three weeks. Fred lovingly raised two children, Corina Aschenbrenner, married to Randy Aschenbrenner and Emile Suter, married to Danielle Suter. He also was a loving father to Jean’s daughters Lori Sikora and Kimberly Phillips Davis. Fred and Jean were blessed with five grandchildren Morgan, Michael, and Matthew Suter as well as Casey and Erin Derieux.

Fred loved art and music, Aruba and the beach, his dogs, was a sagacious free-thinker and a master of dry humor. His comedic timing, wit, and storytelling were unparalleled.  He often could make people laugh until it hurt. His departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply, whether it be family and friends, or his colleagues.
