Frederick Walters Jr. Obituary
Fred grew up in West Palm Beach before moving to DeLand in the mid 60s to start his family. His later years were spent between DeLand and Haysi, Va. He is survived by his loving wife Jean Souleyrette-Walters who he affectionately called his "lil darlin" and her children Sandra Souleyrette and Donna Souleyrette of Lenior, NC. and Gary Souleyrette of Haysi, Va. who all provided wonderful care to him during his illness. His children Frederick Walters III, Michael Walters, Rebecca Walters (Becki), Robert Walters and Elizabeth Walters all of DeLand. 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Fred was an avid hunter back in the day, a member of the Tomoka Hunt Club where he gained his CB handle "Plowboy" along with a multitude of lifelong friends. We take comfort in knowing Dad was loved by everyone he came in contact with. From his good looks, his infectious smile, goofy sense of humor to those beautiful blue eyes, it was so easy to love him.
Please join us for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Sanders Fish House, 1765 W. Beresford Road, DeLand.
