Fredrick Lee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dillinger Funeral Home - Newport on Feb. 27, 2026.
Fredrick (Freddie) Deran Lee Jr., age 58, of Newport, passed on February 23, 2026, at his home. Born September 19, 1967, in Newport, Fredrick was the beloved son of the late Freddie Lee Sr. and Brenda Lee (Pruitt) Lee. Throughout his life, Fredrick was known for his infectious love of sports and for his great athleticism throughout his years as a Newport Greyhound. He was a proud graduate of the class of 1985. He was also an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and Duke Basketball. Game days brought excitement and camaraderie to his home, where he welcomed family and friends to join in the festivities.

An outdoorsman at heart, Fredrick found joy in fishing local waters, perfecting his pool game, and experimenting in the kitchen. He loved cooking for his loved ones, always eager to feed and entertain a crowd. He approached every challenge with determination and a smile, fostering lasting friendships along the way.

Fredrick was a man who cherished his family deeply and built lifelong bonds with those around him. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Peggy Lee of the home; his daughters, Persephoni "Seph" Lee and Tiarra Lee, both of Bryant; his brothers, Vincent Pruitt of Ohio, Kelvin Lee (Brenda) of Texas, Henry Lee of Arkansas, and Jeffery Lee (Erika) of Jonesboro; his sister, Mashelia Gant (Robert) of Texas; and his treasured grandchild, Venson (V.J.) Moore Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Fredrick's extended family includes numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a lifetime of friends. His special circle of friends, Steve Ridley, James Dixon, Chris Crite, Norman Elston, Jerry Brown and Lonzo Bailey, stood beside him through thick and thin, sharing laughter, memories, and adventures. Those who knew him best remember his generosity and unwavering loyalty, the way he always had time for a story or a helping hand.

Fredrick's legacy is woven through the lives of his family and friends. He inspired those around him with his kindness, his zest for life, and his ability to bring people together. His laughter, wisdom, and warmth will be missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. As we remember Fredrick, may we celebrate the countless moments of joy he gave and carry forward his tradition of love, friendship, and service.

Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Greater Morning Star Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at New Hope Cemetery.
