Fredrick J. Thorbahn

Fred Thorbahn, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on November 16, 2024, surrounded by his wife and three daughters after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 64 years old, born on November 26, 1959 to Lewis and Janet Thorbahn in Fremont. Fred was the loving husband of Sandi Thorbahn for 43 years and a devoted father to his three children, Stacey, Sarah, and Kayleah. His family was his greatest joy, and he took immense pride in watching his daughters and grandchildren grow and thrive. A skilled carpenter by trade, Fred dedicated his life to building and creating with his hands as owner of Thorbahn Woodworking. His work, marked by his craftsmanship and attention to detail, left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Fred's work ethic, kind spirit, and unwavering generosity made him a beloved figure in his community. He was one of the founding men behind the Vickery Game Feed that raised money to give back to community members in need. Fred was a passionate outdoorsman who cherished the time he spent hunting with his friends. Whether in the woods or at home, Fred's laughter and warmth were always present, and his genuine love for life was evident in everything he did. Fred's memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, children, extended family, and many friends. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his wife, Sandi (McCourt) Thorbahn; daughters, Stacey Knapp, Sarah (Tyler) McKinnon and Kayleah Thorbahn and grandchildren, Blake, Cole, Luke and Willow. Also, two brothers, Tom (Linda) Thorbahn and Dave (Nancy) Thorbahn. He is preceded in to death by parents, Lewis and Janet Thorbahn and brother Luke Thorbahn.
Visitation will be held at Auxter Funeral Home in Clyde on November 20, 2024 from 2:00-7:00 P.M. with additional visitation at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Vickery on November 21, 2024 from 9:30-10:30 A.M. followed by the funeral service at 10:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Stein Hospice and The American Cancer Society in Fred's memory. May Fred rest in peace, knowing he was loved deeply and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
