Arthur Fiser

Arthur Fiser, 84 of Clyde, OH, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Valley View Health Campus in Fremont, OH. Arthur was born December 14, 1940, in Fremont, OH, the son of the late Arthur, Sr. and Adelaide Elizabeth (McCarthy) Fiser.

Art was a graduate of Clyde High School, class of 1958. He attended Miami University of Ohio, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in 1962. His emphasis was in math. Thereafter, he was an instructor at Miami for many years, teaching math and computer sciences. He continued his teaching career at American University, Washington DC, and later at the University of New York., Brockport, NY.

He was an avid traveler, enjoying camping and especially along the East Coast. He visited all US states, with the exception of Hawaii. He enjoyed reading and was an avid collector of books. As an expert with computers, he continued this love by maintaining all his sister's systems at her law office. His early involvement with the Boy Scouts as a youth gained him Eagle Status and he continued to support the local Clyde troop by donating to them a canoe and other items. As a follower of Clyde History, he contributed to the Clyde Museum by donating an exhibit unit filled with unusual books he had acquired on the history of Clyde and in particular Sherwood Anderson, his brother, Karl, and work by local historian, Dorothy Cox.

Arthur is survived by his sisters: Mary Elizabeth Fiser of Clyde, and Suzanne Kay (Tom) Kenney of Ligonier, PA; and nieces and nephews: Evan Fiser and Stacy Moore of Clyde, Kylie Ann Fiser of Norwalk, Ohio, Guy Link of Belmont, Michigan, Cathy Merovich of Pennsylvania, and Heather Ann Link of Japan.

In addition to his parents, Arthur is preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Fiser.

The family especially wants to acknowledge and gratefully thank Dr. Charles Valone and his staff; staff of Valley View Health Center; and Heartland Hospice of Fremont Ohio, for their empathic care and compassion for our brother and our family.

Friends will be received on October 18, 2025, from the times of 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH 43410. A private committal will take place at McPherson Cemetery, Clyde.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Arthur's honor to the American Cancer Society or Heartland Hospice, of Fremont, Ohio.
