Freya Anderson, age 67, of Colby, died May 22, 2024, at Citizens Medical Center. Freya was born January 21, 1955, in Worcester MA, pronounced WOOSTA! Freya was a member of the United States Navy from 1975-1981. After the Navy Freya worked for Worcester Orthopedics building prosthetics, and Pratt Whitney as a jet engine fabricator, including parts for the space program. Freya was a great lover of craft models, reading, and anything to do with Star Trek. Freya retired early from The City of Manchester Parks and Recreations cemetery department following a life changing car accident. From that accident a marriage came about to Denise Anderson, who was one of the nurses who cared for Freya in the hospital. They lived together in Portsmouth NH from 2005-2018 when they moved to Colby, KS to be close to Courtney and the grandkids. After Denise passed in 2019 Freya embraced her true self and became Freya Jord Anderson and lived a happy and loving life with the support of her family and friends.
Freya was preceded in death by Janet Chase, Richard's mother, and Denise Anderson, Courtney's mother.
Freya is survived by children, Richard, of Goffstown, NH and Courtney, of Goodland KS and grandchildren, Bailey Britton and Logan Britton.
A celebration of life will be from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm, Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at The Gathering Place in Colby KS. Cremation was chosen. There will be no inurnment. Memorials are suggested to The American Cancer Society and sent in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS. 67701. For information or condolences visit baalmannmortuary.com
