Frieda Constance Longdue (Scardino)
Passed away peacefully in her home on September 25, 2025, at age 85.

Born in Rochester, NY on December 10, 1939. Frieda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.

Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Robert Longdue and parents, Rosario and Prospera (Petitti) Scardino.

Survived by her daughters Valerie and Janice Longdue; grandchildren Heather Studley, Casey Freas and Jessica (Cody) Fuller; great-grandson Rhett Fuller; brother Charles (Mary Ann) Scardino; niece Carrie (Greg) Seitz; nephew Ross (Ania) Scardino; grand-nephew Charles Seitz; and many cousins and friends (particularly her poker gal pals).

Frieda graduated from Benjamin Franklin HS in 1958. She directly was hired by Eastman Kodak's Distillation Products Industries as a secretary. She married Bob in 1963 and left DPI in 1968 to raise their two daughters. She returned in 1980 to the work force part-time in retail for McCundy's and Waterbed World. In 1990, Frieda was employed as an assistant to the Registrar of Rochester Museum & Science Center and retired in 2001. Bob & she traveled extensively throughout the USA; cruised to the Bahamas, Bermuda, Mexico, and Central America; toured the entire western coast of Italy and the island of Sicily.

Favorite pastimes were spending summers with Bob in the Thousand Islands, reading, going to movies, playing poker and visiting local casinos. On one of their long walks, Bob & Frieda came upon a tombstone in a cemetery inscribed with a quote that struct a cord with Frieda; "What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us" by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Frieda loved Josh Allen, card games, getting her hair done weekly, and cooking for her family. She loved living at Chapel Oaks and her friends there.

At her request, no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Thursday, October 2 nd at 10 AM at St. Cecilia Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Donations may be made in her memory to Golisano Children's Hospital.
