Frieda Dyess Williams, 87, died Friday, December 30, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her family while under the care of United Hospice. She was born in Evans County, daughter of the late Russell C. and Zellie Odum Dyess. She lived in Savannah most of her life and was a homemaker. Mrs. Williams was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the Silver Nuggets. Her husband, Raymond B. Williams preceded her in death. Surviving are her children, Mary Ellen Crowe and her husband, Robert of Lawrenceville, GA; son, Russell L. Williams of Savannah, GA; Robert W. Williams of Savannah, GA; sister, Lois Waters of Savannah; grandchildren, Dawn Williams of Dacula, GA; Paige Craft of Winder, GA; Robert W. Williams, Jr., of Savannah, GA; Lacey Nicole Williams of Savannah, GA; seven great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Funeral: 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
