Frona Jane “Jan” Larson, age 79, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, in her son’s home in Slidell, Louisiana.
Jan was born on December 28, 1945, in Pascagoula, Mississippi. She was a courageous cancer survivor and a woman of deep faith, strength, and love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, USAF Senior Master Sergeant William “Bill” Larson; her parents, Dr. Bernice White and Joe F. White; her sisters, Lynn Smalley and Georgia Mae; and her daughter-in-law, Holly Larson.
Jan is survived by her two sons, Don Larson and Russ Larson; her granddaughters, Christina Moran, Elizabeth Larson and her grandson Matthew Larson; her sister, Jo Ann Booth; four great-grandchildren; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Jan was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She was a devout Christian and a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene, which she attended regularly until her illness. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she dedicated herself to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, from a very young age.
Jan found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved cooking, watching baseball and football, and never missed an episode of Family Feud. A classic hamburger and fries was her meal of choice, and she had a well-known sweet tooth—especially for chocolate chip cookies and hot, fresh donuts. She was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor and endless patience, especially while raising her two sons, Don and Russ, who kept her laughing with their pranks.
Above all else, Jan’s life was a testament to love, faith, and service to others. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in her memory.
