Furman Henry Alewine

Furman Henry Alewine, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on June 30, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Alewine was a son of the late Florrie Lee and Walter Franklin Alewine.
Furman graduated from Clemson University with BS in Biology, was a devoted IPTAY member and football season ticket holder since 1970. After retiring from the textile industry, Furman enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and relaxing at the beach with his family.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Thomas Alewine (LeAnne); daughter, Barrie Alewine Cliett (Ryan); his grandchildren, Lydia Kathryn Alewine, Anna Claire Alewine, and Miller Furman Cliett; his brother; Walter Malcom Alewine (Patsy); his sister, Ethelene Alewine Satterfield; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judy Thomas Alewine.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 21,2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Fourth Presbyterian Church with a reception following in the fellowship hall.
