G-Man Estes Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home from Mar. 20 to Mar. 21, 2026.
Eugene Earl Estes, affectionately known as "G-Man," passed away on March 18, 2026, in Newburgh, IN.

He was born in Evansville, Indiana, on February 18, 1967, to Clifford Estes and Patricia Sue (Gibbs) Granderson.

He was a 1985 graduate of Perry Central High School. Shortly after graduation, G-Man proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Whipple from 1985 to 1988. Following his service, he worked in various roles, most recently with Marksman Cab Company.

G-Man was a dedicated member of the Perry County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 137 and faithfully served the past eight years as Vice President of the Tell City Citizens Police Academy Alumni, where he made a lasting impact on both the department and the community.

He was an avid sports fan who cheered passionately for the Louisville Cardinals, the Green Bay Packers, and NASCAR-especially Tony Stewart-as well as sprint car racing and thoroughly enjoyed Mach Madness. Known for his gentle spirit and warm personality, G-Man had a remarkable gift for making friends wherever he went, never meeting a stranger. He preferred a heartfelt hug over a handshake and brought comfort and joy to those around him. During the holidays, he delighted in playing Santa Claus for family and friends, spreading cheer and creating cherished memories. G-Man also had a deep love for volunteering and was always willing to lend a helping hand, doing anything he could for anyone in need.

He is survived by his sisters, Katrina Jarrells (Robert) of Minster, Ohio, and Amy Campbell (Ken) of Valdosta, Georgia; his brother, Jerrod Estes of Teutopolis, Illinois; and his nieces, Shienne Sue Posada, Rilee Jarrells, Aaron Campbell, and Gracie Campbell. He is also survived by many dear friends who were like family, including the Glenn Family, the Riddle Family, the Wade Family, the Jason and Amy Fenwick Family, and more friends than one could count.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his significant other, Sergeant Heather J. Glenn.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Tell City.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026, and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to honor the family's wishes.
