Christopher "Todd" Gayer, 49, passed away January 5, 2026, at his home in Bloomington, Indiana.

Born November 18, 1976, in Perry County, Indiana, the son of Chris Gayer and Laverne (Peters) Peter.

He graduated from Perry Central High School in 1995 and went on to attend the University of Evansville on a football scholarship. During his college years, Todd became a brother of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and later graduated with a degree in computer engineering. He was employed at Crane Naval Base, where he worked in computer engineering.

Todd enjoyed golfing and watching Indiana University football and basketball. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his daughter, especially attending sporting events, the 4-H Fair, and their time-shared cooking together.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Laverne and Dave Peter of Tell City; daughter, Lylah Gayer of Bloomington; step-children, Ethan Barnes and Anna Barnes of Bloomington; brother, Brant (Kristina) Gayer of Tell City; step-brother, Vince (Heather) Peter of Tell City; nieces and nephew, Karissa (Jaron) Underhill, Bradey Gayer, Kallie Gayer, David Peter, and Brooke Peter.

Todd was preceded in death by his father, Chris Gayer and his grandparents, Herman & Joyce (Brown) Peters and Norman and Hazel (Labhart) Gayer.

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, with visitation from 3:00 p.m. until service time.
