In Memoriam: Gabriel Bagsit Culiat (March 18, 1941 - December 2, 2023)
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gabriel "Gabby" / "Abeng" Bagsit Culiat of Agat, Guam, born Batangas City, Philippines. On the 2nd day of December 2023, our dear Gabby was called home by our heavenly Father at the age of 82 in the peaceful town of Kyle, Texas.
Gabby was a treasured soul, known for his generous spirit, his handy skills, and his loving nature, who enjoyed interacting with friends, old and new. He contributed his skills and spent his professional career at the Guam Ship Repair Facility and Navy Public Works Center. After retirement he shared his passion for gardening and orchids at the local flea markets and plant shows. Gabby and Fely were considered the pioneers in importing and selling orchids on Guam. His hobbies included fishing, as well as singing
and listening to music.
His love and memories will forever remain in the hearts of his loving wife Fely Alarcon Culiat, his Children and their Spouses Lorie Culiat and Jeffrey Owens, Gabriel Culiat Jr. and Veronica Forewoman, Maryfe Culiat and Joseph Hernandez (Mikai Joseph and Keonu Gabriel). He will be missed dearly by his brothers and sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and god-children and his many family and friends in Guam, Philippines and the U.S.
