Gabriel Remy Cabrera-Schram

Gabriel Remy Cabrera-Schram, age 15, completed his two-year journey with DSRCT cancer at home on December 15, 2021. Born on October 4, 2006, in Guatemala City, Guatemala, Gabriel moved to Chicago, Illinois in 2009 when his fathers, Rem Cabrera and Christopher Schram, adopted his sister Sabrina and him. The family moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan in 2017, and Gabriel was a freshman at Loy Norrix High School. He is survived by his fathers and sister; his adoring white shepherd, Gypsy; grandfather, Daniel Schram of St. Joseph, MI; grandmother, Erundina Cabrera of Miami, FL; uncles & aunts Rafael Cabrera of Miami, FL, Roderick and Katina Schram of Wabash, IN, Peter and Renee Schram of New Orleans, LA; and cousins, Ryder Schram of Wabash, IN, and Terralyn and Tabitha Schram of New Orleans, LA. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Remberto Cabrera, Sr. and grandmother, Sandra McCrory Schram. A celebration of life will take place at First Congregational Church in Kalamazoo on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 1:00 pm. The service will also be streamed online.
