With profound sadness and enduring love, we announce the passing of Gabriela Azucena Martinez on June 25, 2025, at the age of 36, following a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Born on February 23, 1989, Gabriela was raised in her beloved homeland, Santo Domingo, San Vicente, El Salvador until the age of 20, when she moved to the United States to build a new chapter of her life. A devoted daughter to Azucena del Carmen Martinez Melendez and Luis Palacios, and cherished granddaughter of Maria Isabel Martinez, Gabriela carried her roots and her family's love with her wherever she went. She was a loving sister to Yulisa and Letizia Martinez and a proud dog mom to her loyal companion, Toby Martinez. Gabriela's life was enriched by the warmth of her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends-connections she valued deeply and held close to her generous heart. Gabriela dedicated herself professionally to American Airlines, where she worked in the Admirals Lounge, offering travelers not just service, but warmth, smiles, and the kind of comfort that only someone with an open heart can give. She was known for her deep kindness, infectious laughter, and her ability to make people feel seen and valued. She had a boundless love for animals, an adventurous spirit, and a passion for travel that took her to places near and far-always returning with stories, souvenirs, and a wider heart. Gabriela's giving nature and caring soul left an indelible mark on everyone lucky enough to know her. Her life was one of strength, compassion, and connection. Though her time with us was far too short, Gabriela's light lives on in the countless lives she touched. Family and friends will honor Gabriela's life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, East Boston, on Sunday, July 6th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Monday July 7th at the Immaculate Conception church in Revere for a 12:00 PM funeral mass. Services will conclude with Gabriela being laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn. Forever loved, forever missed. Rest in peace, Gabriela.

Gabriela nació el 23 de febrero de 1989 y fue criada en su amada tierra natal, Santo Domingo, San Vicente, El Salvador hasta los 20 años, cuando se mudó a los Estados Unidos para comenzar un nuevo capítulo en su vida. Hija devota de Azucena del Carmen Martinez Melendez y Luis Palacios, y querida nieta de Maria Isabel Martinez, Gabriela llevaba consigo sus raíces y el amor de su familia a dondequiera que iba. Fue una hermana amorosa para Yulisa y Letizia Martinez, y una orgullosa mamá perruna de su fiel compañero, Toby Martinez. La vida de Gabriela se vio enriquecida por el cariño de muchas tías, tíos, primos y amistades entrañables-lazos que valoraba profundamente y que guardaba cerca de su generoso corazón. Familiares y amigos honrarán la vida de Gabriela reuniéndose en Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, en East Boston, el domingo 6 de julio de 3:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m., y nuevamente el lunes 7 de julio en la iglesia Immaculate Conception en Revere para una misa fúnebre a las 12:00 PM.
