Gaetano Grasso Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by McGuinness Funeral Homes - Sewell on Nov. 18, 2025.
Gaetano "Tom" Grasso, 96, of Monroeville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
Tom was born in Philadelphia, PA, and later moved to Glassboro, NJ, before finally putting down deep roots on his farm in Elk Township, where he made his home for the past 60 years. At just 18, he took on the responsibility of running the family farm, helping to support his parents and 11 siblings. The land shaped him, and he shaped it in return - the farm was as much a part of Tom as he was of it.
Tom's life changed forever when he met Angie in his early thirties. He knew immediately she was the one. Together they shared more than 57 beautiful years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and a devotion that never wavered. Their greatest joys were the family they built together: their two children, daughter-in-law, and five cherished grandchildren.
Side by side, Tom and Angie operated Grasso Farm, growing vegetables that fed and nourished their family and community. Their farm stand became well known for offering only the "best of the best" - and anyone who tasted Tom's tomatoes knew they were truly South Jersey's finest.
Tom will be remembered as a selfless man whose life was rooted in love, generosity, and quiet strength. A farmer, bowler, dancer, card player, storyteller, and fun-loving soul, he brought warmth and laughter wherever he went. Always willing to help anyone in need, he had an uncanny ability to fix the unfixable. His hands worked the land, mended what was broken, and lifted up those around him - leaving behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion that will never be forgotten.
Tom was the beloved husband and widower of Angelina "Angie" Grasso (née Maccarone); loving father of Carmelo (Janice) Grasso and Santina (Glenn) Grasso; and cherished PopPop of Brittany (Michael), Deanna, Alexandra (Anthony), Christina (Travis), and William (Katie). He was the dear brother of Vito, Nicholas, and Carmelo Jr. (Shelagh), and brother-in-law of Chester Bregler. He was predeceased by his parents, Carmelo and Santa Grasso, and siblings Frances, Angela, Josephine, Mary, Carmela, Joseph, Catherine, and Santa. He also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and who will miss him dearly.
