Gail Beloff Obituary

Beloff, Gail Roslyn, - 63, of Crown Point, IN, and Ventnor, NJ, passed away at Franciscan Health Dyer on October 31, 2022 after a courageous fight from AML. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Ruth Beloff and brothers, Marc and Adam Beloff. She is survived by her wife, Gina Colombo, siblings Sam (Dale), Donna Wood (Dan), Josh (Eva), Lana Kish (Jack), father-in-law, Vince Colombo and 17 adoring nieces and nephews. Gail enjoyed a 40 year career in the casino industry where she worked from cage cashier to a compassionate leader in the gaming industry. She graduated valedictorian from Calumet College and received her MBA from Wesleyan College. Gail served on the board of directors at Calumet College. She received the Great Woman of Gaming award. Gail loved spending time with treasured family and friends, her dogs, traveling and entertaining. She touched many lives with her kind and generous heart. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Services will be held this Friday, November 4, 11 am, at Beth El Synagogue, 500 N. Jerome Avenue, Margate City, NJ. Interment Rodef Sholom Cemetery, Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Donations can be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, Rush University Medical Center, or Calumet College of St Joseph. Arrangements are entrusted to Roth-Goldsteins' Memorial Chapel www.rothgoldsteins.com

It´s awfully quiet without. No messages from you, no flashback moments to discuss and our family historian lies in peace. Not want anyone especially Gina could fathom. So here we are, reflecting on the shining light that would always want peace and harmony in the world. I have nothing much to offer but to say that the world is lesser without you and we´re sad knowing you´re not present to lean in to celebrate the triumphs and challenges that will come. We are thinking of you today, tomorrow and always.

Many of us still struggle with the loss of an individual with such grit and determination. She had only wanted to be that special friend, aunt, sister and wife to all who loved her. She caught for each breath with hopes of more joy and memories. I´m a bit lost with the silence in her absence. I know many feel as I do. Gail would say shake it off, thank you for loving me but don´t waste a moment in the sorrow. Live fully and extend a hand to others who could use a friend. Gail, you are so missed. Thank you for being a important part of our lives. We will never forget your good soul and live as you suggest.

Gail was a gem. Confident, tough, funny and bold. I think back to those days at the Sands - she knew the world behind that cage window and you could count on her 100% when challenging decisions were at hand and when a simple laugh was the order of the day. My condolences to Gina and members of the Beloff family. I used to work for Gail at the Las Vegas Hilton and learned the gaming industry regulations from her. I was "GodMomma" to Max, Mollie and Sadie when I ended up renting a room from her. We went from business to friend and she will be missed by so many. She had a wonderful spirit, never say never attitude and was a joy to work and know. Godspeed my friend.

I meet Gail in 1985 when I started at the Sands. She was boss and mentor. She tough me so much. Still remember the time she asked me to bring her lunch. So I did but she hated either tomatoes or tomatoes with mayo on it. So the first plate she uncovered was the tomatoes. She came unglued it was funny. Then another time I told her I put in my 2 weeks notice. Note is was April 1st. She didn't get it until she mentioned it to the big wigs then they approached me and I told them April fools. She dumped a big buck of paper clips over my head. Sending prayers to her family and friends. Bellabutt you will be missed my friend. Fly high.

Mr. Shockey and I had the pleasure of coaching Gail when she played on the Zanes Dorset girls softball team. She was friends with both my daughters in their younger years and the Beloff house was the only home I would allow my girls to stay over night in as I knew Ruth wouldn´t stand for any nonsense. I am so very very sorry to hear of her passing. That infectious smile will remain a memory to me always. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Gina and the Beloff Family - May God comfort you among the other mourners of Zion and Jerusalem. Gail and I went to St. Joseph's together. During our classes together we shared many family stories, laughs and stress. Gail made class fun. Her Valedictorian speech was one for the books - I was so proud. Gail, I will miss you.

Gina and Beloff Families, I do not even begin to know the depth of your loss. Gail was a loving, kind, generous and loyal individual. We were friends when we were younger and reconnected when we found each other on Facebook many years later. I remember so much time at your house on Atlantic Avenue and then walking up to the Ventnor Fishing Pier at night. When Gail first told me of her diagnosis in December we spoke via phone on how this wasn´t going to slow her down or stop her. She always kept a positive outlook fighting until the end. Gina, you were the love of her life who brought her happiness she never thought possible. Josh, Sam you brothers were her heart, her blood, her family. I know that she had so much love for the larger Beloff family members as well. Know one thing if nothing else, she loved you all from the bottom of her heart and she will always remain by you, until you meet again.

Gail was my boss back in the day at the Sands. She was my mentor and coach I learned alot. But the one thing I still have a problem with today is thinking before I speak. Bellabutt you know what I mean. And I'm sure your laughing your butt off right now. Love you and thank you. I'm still working on it everyday but some days are harder then others. FLY HIGH MY FRIEND. YOU WILL BE MISSED
