Gail Elaine (Stella) Cheverie, age 82, passed away at home on September 22, 2025, in Plymouth, surrounded by the family who loved her dearly. In a poignant twist of fate, this day also marked her 63rd wedding anniversary with her devoted husband, Frank Andrew Cheverie - a beautiful reflection of their lifelong love and unwavering bond.
Born on November 22, 1942, at Quincy City Hospital in Quincy, Massachusetts, Gail was the daughter of the late Dorothy M. Stella and Stephen L. Stella. Raised in a large and close-knit family, she carried the strength, warmth, and values of that upbringing throughout her life.
Gail is survived by her loving husband Frank, and their three daughters: Michaele L. Krause (Dana) of Pembroke, Lisa M. Laque (Danny) of Middleboro, and Christine N. Daiute (Joe) of Hanson. She is a proud grandmother to Kendall E. Brown and Jenna E. Laque, and a devoted great-grandmother to Alaysia M. Brown and Sadye N. Brown. She is also survived by her siblings: Stevie Stella, Richard Stella, Julie Sikora, Joe Barow, Sally Bean, Leonard Smart, Cindy Dunn, Danny Rowse and Debby Bump, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and lifelong friends.
She is predeceased by her parents Dorothy M. Stella, Stephen L. Stella, her brother Glenn Stella, and her cherished great-granddaughter, Haven Laque.
For many years, Gail worked as a bookkeeper for her husband's business before following her passion for travel and becoming a travel agent - a role that perfectly suited her adventurous spirit. She found joy in exploring new places, decorating her home, celebrating every holiday with warmth and flair, reading, and hosting family game nights filled with laughter.
A lifelong animal lover, Gail opened her heart and home to many animals over the years - from cats and dogs to horses, cows, chickens, a goat, and even a rooster.
Above all else, Gail cherished her family. Time spent with her great-granddaughters, Alaysia and Sadye, brought her the greatest joy. She will be remembered for her radiant smile, her open arms, and her gracious heart. Known for her generosity, Gail had a way of making everyone feel welcome - and would truly give the shirt off her back to someone in need.
Now reunited with her great-granddaughter Haven, Gail rests peacefully, her love and legacy living on in all who knew her.
