Gail R. Coppess, born on January 4, 1953, in Ansonia, Ohio, departed this life peacefully at his home in Hilliard, Ohio, on May 27, 2025, surrounded by family as he bravely faced a battle with cancer. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who touched the hearts of many with his unwavering kindness and infectious laughter.
Gail was known for his great attitude and remarkable sense of humor. He had an innate ability to bring joy to those around him, always ready to share a laugh or lend a helping hand. His loving nature made him a reliable source of support for both family and friends alike.
An enthusiastic cook, Gail found pleasure in spending time in the kitchen, often experimenting with new recipes and crafting delightful meals. He particularly loved cooking for his grandchildren and family. His culinary talents were just one of the many ways he expressed his deep love for those he held dear.
Gail was a proud father to his sons, Brian (Carolina) Coppess and Brad (Joe) Coppess, who will carry forward his legacy of love and laughter. His grandchildren, Ethan, Kaitlyn, Parker, Mei, Lexy, and Harold, will remember him for the warmth he brought into their lives and the countless moments spent together in joy.
He is also survived by his sister, Jane Wall, and his brother, Bruce Coppess, who will miss his companionship and the bonds forged through many shared experiences.
In these last days, Gail was never alone, with his faithful dog, Luna, by his side, providing comfort and companionship until the end.
