Gail "Therese" Ivany (Couturier)Fortin, 81, of Saco, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025, at Pinnacle Health in Sanford.
Therese, as she went by in her younger years, was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, on September 15th, 1944, and raised in Edmundston, Canada.
In her younger years, Gail was employed as a Binder Operator at a Print Shop called Saint John Valley Times.
Gail married her husband Albert Fortin on September 7th, 1964. The couple moved to the United States to raise their family. Gail was a homemaker and took great pride in her family.
The family took many trips to their camp, located on what they called the "Long Lake" at St. Agatha. There, she enjoyed the company of her friends and family.
When time permitted, Gail and Albert would go antiquing for anything that caught their eye. However, the most exciting thing they could find were old radios that the couple would refurbish back to their original glory. In her later years, Gail could be found shopping, relaxing at home, knitting, or spending time with friends and family.
She was predeceased by her husband: Albert J. Fortin, her parents, and her son: Kevin Fortin.
She is survived by her daughter: Kim Cyr, and her grandson: Ian Cyr.
Visiting Hours will be held from 4PM-7PM, Friday, November 21st, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, Saco.
