It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Alison Abigail Fortin, who left us on November 16th. Ali was born on May 18th, 1975, in Exeter NH. She was a beautiful daughter, sister, aunt, partner and loving friend to many, many, many people.

A current resident of Portsmouth NH, Ali was raised in Newmarket and was a proud graduate of the Mule dome class of 1993. She was a girl scout, a flutist in the elementary and high school bands, and a member of the field hockey and basketball teams. During high school she attended the vocational school in Exeter where she became a member of DECA and began her marketing career. After graduating from Newmarket, she continued her education at New Hampshire College where she joined the sorority Kappa Chi and graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing and communications. She stayed in the Manchester area after college for several years working as a bartender and server at the 99 Restaurant. Eventually Ali settled in Portsmouth NH in 2006 where she went to work for Lodging Econometrics and then moved into a sales career for a lifelong friend at Global Inventory Management.

Ali's devotion to her friends, family and partner was undeniable. She took on the responsibility of looking after everyone that she loved. She always had other people in her mind and took great pride in planning parties, vacations and events. Her goal was to make things fun and perfect for everyone involved. She constantly was on the lookout for the best deals in town on hotels and flights. Always proclaiming proudly that she secured her latest gem for "Short Money $$". This term was such a reflection of her desire to do her best in any transaction, that it became a beloved nickname. She loved to travel and see the world but was a true New Englander. She was a passionate New England sports fan and attended many Celtics, Bruins, Red Sox and Patriots games. She had the opportunity to travel to other states and attend games at other venues. Some of her favorite recent trips included Saratoga NY, Block Island and Newport Rhode Island. She was a Phish-head having seen the band many times with many great friends in many great locations. Ali was very honest and forthcoming. She would never hesitate to tell you what was on her mind, which is why she was such a great friend to all that she met.

She was a very proud dog parent to her loyal companion Rufus who gave her so much love in return. Throughout her life she was known as "Auntie Ali" to many of her friends' children finding joy in babysitting or partaking in their special events.

As an amazing daughter, she made it a priority to talk to her parents every day and was just as loyal to her brother for whom she was always there for in friendship and love.

She loved her home in Portsmouth and its location close to the water and downtown making it easy to walk everywhere. She enjoyed and took pride in gardening around her home and patio area.

Alison is survived by her partner Paul Fenlon of 19 years, brother David Fortin Jr., her cherished niece Emma Jane Fortin and her mother Stacey Howerter and her loving mother Jerilyn Fortin. She was predeceased by her father David Fortin Sr. in 2024. She also was deeply loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday November 22, 2025 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home & Crematory, 77 Exeter Road (Route 108) Newmarket, NH 03857

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced.
