Gail Jeanette Lulek (Prior), 74, of Dunedin, Florida, made her peaceful transition at home, surrounded by family on September 13, 2025.

Gail was born on December 12, 1950 outside Toronto to Larry and Bernice Prior. The family immigrated and settled in the Detroit area. She became a citizen of the United States in 1965, though she remained proud of her Canadian heritage.

Gail earned degrees from Grand Valley State College and Nova University. She spent the heart of her career teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) in Pinellas County Public Schools and at St. Petersburg College. She taught ESOL certification classes to Pinellas County teachers. In addition, for years she ran the Pinellas County Multi-Cultural programs. She was voted Pinellas County Teacher of the Year in 2001, but truly, that was only one of so many awards and recognitions, professional and personal, that she received throughout her career.

Gail was a prolific writer, active for years in the Dunedin Writers Group. She published her witty satires multiple times in the group's yearly anthology. She loved story telling with the Tampa Bay's Story Tellers Guild. She was an omnivorous reader, interested in novels, metaphysics, and biblical studies. But most importantly, Gail loved music. She came from a musical family and continued that tradition, filling her home with song. She played piano particularly well, everything from Bach to the Beatles. She loved nights at Wiley House Concerts, or Ruth Eckerd Hall, or the Capital Theater, and she loved hosting house parties where everyone sang and played. She practiced yoga and Qi Gong. She traveled everywhere through the States, South America, and Europe.

Throughout this life, Gail was a spiritual seeker. A lifelong Unity member, she committed to living in accordance with metaphysical principles guided by prayer. She radiated generosity of spirit, idealism, and truthfulness. She was enthusiastically, relentlessly positive.

At the center of her life stood her family. She embraced them all with great pride, affection, and deepest maternal love. She invested all her joy and hope in them, and never did they disappoint her. She left them with the assurance that all is in divine order.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Bernice Prior, and by her brother, Glen Prior.

She is survived by her loving husband Mark; her children Scott (Nicole) and Tammy (Thaddeus); her grandchildren Lauren (Josh) Kayla (Josh), Noah, Brianna, and Lexi; great granddaughter Macie; and sister, Wendy (Prior) Hoin.

A Celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
