Gail Toinette Mansur, age 87, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home in Vilano Beach on September 13, 2025. Born on August 6, 1938, in Decatur, Illinois, Gail lived a remarkable life rooted in strength, compassion, and generosity. After graduating from Neenah High School in Neenah, Wisconsin, she pursued her calling in occupational therapy, earning her degree from the University of Wisconsin. What followed was a long and meaningful career in which Gail touched countless lives through her skill, dedication, and unwavering kindness. She began her work as Director of Occupational Therapy at Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee, later transitioning into children's therapy at a treatment center in Madison. Gail and her family lived many places across the country including New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Louisville, where she continued to serve with compassion in hospitals, universities, and even starting her own private practice. In between it all, Gail also helped with her husband's many business endeavors. She found a passion working with children teaching at Eastern Kentucky University, directing programs for kids aged 0–6 with cerebral palsy, and finishing her career working with deaf and blind students at the University of Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. In 1960, Gail married Sidney Mansur, with whom she raised three children in Indiana. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and adventure. Beyond her career and family, Gail nurtured a deep love for animals, especially horses. On her family's farm, she devoted herself to caring for foals, raising them with the same patience and love she shared with the people in her life. Though her days were full, Gail found joy in a good book, boating with her husband, time in her gardens, time in the mountains of North Carolina, and through cherished moments with her children and grandchildren. Those who knew Gail will remember her as a fiercely strong woman who carried herself with kindness and grace. Her loyalty and generosity left a lasting imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and June Trass, and her sister, Susan Daniels. She is survived by her loving husband, Sidney Mansur of St. Augustine; daughters, Rebecca Frash and her husband David of Lafayette, Indiana, Sarah Mansur and her husband Mark Blythe of St. Augustine; a son, Matthew Mansur of Reno, Nevada; sisters, Gretchen Spencer and her husband Bailey of Alexandria, Va., Katherine Roeck and her husband Mike of Chicago, a brother, Peter Traas of Brookfield, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Joshua Frash and his wife Hazel, Rechelle Payne and her husband Xavier, Jacob Frash, Esther Mansur, Charlotte Mansur, and great grandchildren, Jackson Frash and Silas Frash. A celebration of Gail's life will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at St. John's Family Funeral Home, 385 State Rd 207, St. Augustine, Florida. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. Gail's legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched with her loving heart and her quiet but extraordinary strength. St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
