December 18, 1942 - February 13, 2024
Bradenton, Florida - Gail Mills Parent, 81, of Bradenton, FL, sadly passed away Tuesday February 13, 2024, following a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born Harriet Gail Mills on December 18, 1942, in Bartow, FL, daughter of the late Wilma and Harry Mills. She is a graduate of Fort Meade High School.
Gail attended Florida State University and graduated with a B.A in Medical Technology. While attending FSU, Gail met her husband, Burdette "Bud" Parent, Jr. They were married on April 24, 1964, and moved to Bradenton. Gail worked at the Manatee Memorial Hospital and Manatee County Blood Bank as a medical technologist. Gail was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to travel, spend time with family, play tennis, bake and garden. She always cared for the needs of her family over her own. She is survived by her husband, Burdette Parent, Jr; sister, Shirley McClintock; sons, Steve Parent (Robin) and Brian Parent (Sarah) and grandchildren, Shannon Parent, Lauren Parent, Mark Parent, and David Parent. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at 10 AM, Friday, February 23, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church of Bradenton, 603 11th St West, Bradenton, FL 34205. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations to the First United Methodist Church of Bradenton https://fumcb.com/giving/ or the Roskamp Institute for Alzheimer's research https://www.roskampinstitute.org/donate/.
