Gail Schmidt Perkins August 21, 1945 – October 20, 2025
Gail Schmidt Perkins, age 80, of Mansfield, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Her celebration of life will be held at McEvoy Funeral Home on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. with Bro. Randy Stephens and Mike Wilson officiating. Visitation is planned on Saturday after 10:00 A.M. until time of service.
Gail was born on August 21, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Arthur L. Schmidt and the late Emma J. Schander Schmidt. She married Teddy R. Perkins, who survives in Mansfield, on July 6, 1963. Gail is also survived by her daughter, Sherry Perkins (Kari Knell) of Sarasota, Florida; son, Raymond (Donna) Perkins of Mansfield; sister, Janice Sellers of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and several special friends.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Perkins is also preceded in death by her sisters, Jean Freeman and Corrine Saviano.
Mrs. Perkins was a Christian by faith. She was a teller with First Bank in Paris and actually retired from them twice. She was a member of Pleasant Hill FCE for many years, assisting with many benefits in the community. Gail enjoyed lottery scratch-offs and diamond dots art. She was a very giving person who wanted to help anyone in need or had problems. Gail loved her family and had many dear and special friends including her Muffin and Cali.
