Gail Russell Skidmore, 85, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023. He was born on December 23, 1937 in Delta, Utah.
He proudly served in the US Navy. Gail worked as a missile mechanic and worked on the minuteman missile in multiple states and retired from Hill Air Force Base.
Gail married Lynda Malloy on August 19, 1960 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was a talented woodworker. He enjoyed raising sheep and was proud of his grand champion sheep. He also enjoyed the outdoors and hunting.
Gail is survived by his wife, Lynda of South Ogden; sons, Marty Skidmore of Riverdale and Justin (Sarah) Skidmore of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Lisa Jones of West Jordan, Suzanne (Blake) Nelson of North Ogden and Paula (Keith) Azbury of Stansbury Park, UT; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward Lyman (Velma) Skidmore and Brent Lyman (Marsha) Skidmore. He was preceded in death by his son Gail Russell, Jr.; grandchild, MaryLynn Nelson; parents; six sisters, and two brothers.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Road Bluffdale, Utah. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, Roy, Utah.
