Gail Ellen Skurski

Gail Ellen Skurski, 77, of Binghamton passed peacefully on November 20, 2023. Gail was born in White Plains, New York on August 20, 1946. Gail was a registered nurse who started her career at Lourdes Hospital in the nursery, went on to home health care and finally became a school nurse at Family Enrichment, enjoying each role as her career flourished. She was an avid reader and quite the adventurer, never refusing to fly to visit family and friends or to sight see incredible natural wonders. Gail never met a craft that did not interest her and spent countless hours weaving, knitting, crocheting, needlepointing; you name it, and she probably tried it once! She never let health challenges be an obstacle and was a role model for ignoring them to enjoy life. A kind soul who made so many close friends over the years. Always volunteering to help others and was a true animal lover. She will be missed by so many.
Gail is survived by her devoted husband John of 57 years, Binghamton; her sister Kaye Griffin of Zephyrhills, Florida; and children Sandra and Jim Turowsky of Vero Beach, Florida, and Michael and Jennifer Skurski of Charlotte North Carolina; and beloved grandchildren Clayton, Maya and Emily and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Gail's life will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. Family will receive friends for 11:00 am until the time of services. To forward condolences please visit www.demunn.com.
