Gale Canup Obituary
We honor Gale Kenith Canup as a tribute to The Canup Family. Gale Canup of 82 years was a loving, hard working father that instilled work ethic, love, and kindness into Kenny, Lisa, and Mitch.
He was a devoted husband to Jean Canup for over 65 years, and together they provided a foundation of unconditional love and support to their family. Gale was committed to high quality craftsmanship in carpentry and passed that trait to his sons and grandsons. His daughter and granddaughters brought a special warmth and affection to his heart. He was deeply proud of his family by their achievements, faith in God, and bright hearts. Gale was a quiet strength who anchored the family in connections. He is survived by a faithful wife Audrie “Jean” Morris Canup; Sons, Kenny Canup (Julie) of Benton KY and Mitchell Canup (Kelli-Lynn) of Nicholasville KY; daughter Lisa Sykes (Chuck) of Benton KY; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 11:00am Central Time until the time of Service at 2pm at The Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY. He will be laid to rest in Mt Carmel Cemetery. The family requested donations be made in his memory to the Calvert City Nursing Home and Rehab, 1201E 5th Ave SE Calvert City KY 42029.
