Gale Rhodes Obituary
Gale was born April 3, 1944 in Belgrove, Jackson County, daughter of the late Dewey and Sylvia Parsons Young. Gale was a member of the Brisco Church, enjoyed sewing and did seamstress work for many folks, and was a member of the Gospel Messengers Quartet where she sang and played the Autoharp.
She is survived by daughter, Rita S. (Randy) Randolph of Pineville, NC; son Samuel Eugene Rhodes of Ripley, WV ; brothers, Dewey Thomas Young and James Young; sister, Betty Sydenstricker and Arlene Boggess; grandchildren, Heather (Kevin) Brown and Jamie (Stephanie) Randolph; she is also survived by several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Rhodes; a son, Sheldon "Scott" Rhodes and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Thursday, September 11, 2025 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Aaron Melhorn officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 11 am until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
