Gale Lynn Hunter Sisk
January 17, 1957 - October 27, 2025

Gale Lynn Hunter Sisk, born January 17, 1957, to Acquila and G.C. "Buster" Hunter, passed away peacefully with family by her side.

Gale married her high school sweetheart, Paul M. Sisk, Jr., in 1975. Together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family. She was a devoted mother to her two children, Lacey (Patrick) Smith and the late Christopher Sisk, and she held her role as "Mom" close to her heart. To those who knew her, Gale wasn't just a mother to her own children - she was "Mama Gale" to countless others from the neighborhood, the classroom, the FFA, and beyond. Her home was always open--usually accompanied with some sort of baked goods--and her heart even more so.

A homemaker through and through, Gale found her greatest joy in caring for her family and her home. She had a soft spot for all creatures, great and small, from her beloved dogs to her chickens and peacocks on the family's small hobby farm. Those who knew her best will remember her bright smile and infectious laugh, her tender heart, her fierce "mama bear" spirit, and her ability to make anyone feel loved and welcomed.

Gale is preceded in death by her parents, Acquila and Buster Hunter; her sisters, Eleanor Johnson and Alice Murphy; and her son, Christopher Sisk. She is survived by her husband Paul M. Sisk, Jr.; her daughter and son-in-law, Lacey and Patrick Smith; her sister, Dolores Hammock; and a large extended family of nieces and nephews-- Lisa, Steve, Ron, Wendy, Bert, Kim and Terri--great-nieces, and great-nephews, and many more who loved her dearly.

Gale's legacy lives on in the love she poured into her family, her animals, and her home. She will be remembered for her gentle humor, her fierce love, and her unwavering devotion to those she called her own.

A service will be held Friday, October 31. The viewing will begin at 10am at Joe P. Burns Funeral in Perry, FL, with the funeral service immediately following at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family invites friends to honor Gale's memory by providing a donation to the the Florida FFA Foundation, as it provided some of her most cherished memories with her children.
