Galen J. Osowski, 86, of Chippewa Falls, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, March 28.
He was born June 27, 1938 in Stanley, WI to John "Jack" and Viola (Weslosky) Osowski. He grew up in Thorp on the family farm and resided in Chippewa County for most of his life.
Galen enjoyed television with loved ones. Whether solving mysteries with Jessica Fletcher in "Murder, She Wrote," enjoying classic Westerns, or being captivated by the epic romance of "Titanic" (a particular favorite), these moments of shared viewing were treasured. He assisted in fundraising for the American Cancer Society, Special Olympics, and youth Hockey Association.
Galen will always be remembered for his enduring boyish charm. He inspired many through his selfless actions.
Galen is survived by his dear friends, Louise Gerloff, Karen (Mag) McCabe; and her children, Kurt Kandler and Paige McCabe, and Cindy Kandler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncles.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 10 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Aaron Sturgis officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at St. Hedwig's Cemetery in Thorp.
