Garland Wilson, age 81, of Silver Springs, Florida, went home with Jesus on February 6, 2026. He was born on October 4, 1944, in Genoa, West Virginia. He is survived by his High School Sweetheart and loving wife Sue of 62 years.
Garland was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his children Garland Wilson Jr. (Lurrylynn) Silver Springs, FL; Ava Miller (Gary) Ocala, FL; and Cassie Yvonne Woods (Jeff) Silver Springs, FL.
He also leaves behind a large and cherished family of 27 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Garland is also survived by his siblings Harold Wilson (Barb) Taylorsville, KY; Janice Cox (Jack) Genoa, WV; and Rhonda Smith (Mike) Huntington, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Cassie Wilson, and his sister Betty Sue and 2 brothers Jackie and Brian Kieth.
Garland’s life was marked by a deep love and commitment for God and family. He served faithfully as Associate Pastor of South Main Street Church of God in Rittman, Ohio for 17 years, and later as Pastor of West Salem Church of God for 11 years. After working for Ford Motor Company for 33 years he retired at the age of 50. He then moved to Florida, where he continued ministry as the Assistant Pastor at New Harvest Church of God. At the time of his passing, he was an active member of the Fort McCoy Church of God.
Garland will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his steady presence, and the legacy of strength, love, and devotion. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
