MR. GARRY THOMAS BOYD, son of the late Beatrice Boyd and the late Clarence Boyd was born on August 15, 1953 in Greeleyville, SC. He departed this earthly life at 6:10 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at McLeod Hospice Center in Florence, SC.
Garry was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County.
Garry was a member of St. Mary Apostolic Church in Florence, SC.
Garry was employed at REFCon (Refrigeration and Construction) for over 35 years until his health declined.
Garry loved to listen at his radio with his favorite being Happy Feelings and Golden Time of the Day by Maze featuring Frankie Beverly. In his spare time, he loved to plant a garden and visit Nick’s Store.
Garry loved his family but most of all loved his lovely wife, Joann. They shared 49 years of marriage. They were a couple that would sing, dance, drink, laugh and act up together.
Garry never met a stranger to know him was to love him.
Garry was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Beatrice Boyd; brothers, Gerald Johnson, Dennis Boyd, Gregory Boyd, and Keino Boyd; mother in-law and father in-law, Mary and Wilbur Muldrow; sister in-law, Goldboro James; brother in-law, Earl Emanuel.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories are his wife of 49 years, Joann Boyd of the home; two sons, Marcus Thomas Muldrow and Tito D. Muldrow both of Florence, SC; one daughter, Blenda Ford on Florence, SC; six grandchildren, Jhakeia Robinson of Charlotte, NC, Zedric Ford, Jaheim Abraham, Zy’nise Ford all of Florence, SC; Zy’Rhel Rogers of Greenville, SC, and Brianna McCullough of Florence, SC; six sisters, Sharon Boyd, Wanda Emanuel, Catrina Boyd, Bonita (Thurman) King all of Florence, Natasha Boyd all of Florence, SC; Debra (Cordirus) Hopkins of Thomasville, NC; two brothers, Darrell (Tacara) Boyd of Florence, SC and Robert (Tammy) Dunlap of Thomasville, NC; three sister in-laws, Corine Johnson, Sharonda Boyd and Loris Boyd; two brother in-laws, Roy Muldrow of Columbia, SC and Jerry Muldrow of Florence, SC; two aunts, Margaret Thomas and Linda Rouke of Weldon, NC, two uncles, Arthur Blanding of NC and Williams Blanding of VA; special granddaughter, Zy’nise Ford whom he loved dearly; special nieces, Tanny; special friends, the late Archie, Dexter, Pete, Ham, Harald, Nick and host of friends at Nick’s Store in Quinby and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Garry, will truly be missed!
