Garry Gannett Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
To know Garry was to know loyalty, laughter, and love. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather who always put family first. His beloved wife, Richlene - whom he lovingly called "his bride" - was the center of his world. Together they built a life full of love, family, and memories.
As a father, he poured his heart into his children - Garry II, Jamie, Dave, and Sue. Whether it was cheering them on near or far, sharing stories with his grandchildren, or making memories at family gatherings, he had a way of making everyone feel valued and deeply loved.
Garry shared a special bond with his twin brother, Gregg - a connection filled with friendship, laughter, and an understanding that only twins could know.
He had a lifelong passion for muscle cars and could talk about them for hours, his eyes lighting up the moment an engine roared to life. Elvis Presley's music was the soundtrack to his days, and he never turned down a chance to play his favorite songs. Simple joys made him happiest - an ice-cold Coors Light in hand, the sound of waves crashing at the beach, and time spent with the people he loved most.
Over the years, Garry worked hard to provide for his family, spending time at Cole Steel, the York County Prison, and later in life The Giant Company. He made friends everywhere he went, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and humor.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, his generous heart, and the way he lit up a room just by being in it. His spirit will live on in the stories, laughter, and love shared by his family and friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has offered love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Freedom Biker Church (York, PA) or simply raise a toast in Garry's honor with an ice-cold Coors Light.
