Garry A. Gryczan, 65, of Riverside, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on July 27, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois to Chester Martin Gryczan and Bernice L. "Bea" Gryczan (nee Kobialko), who preceded him in death. Loving Brother of Gregory (Sandra) Gryczan, Karen (Laura) Gryczan, and Guy Gryczan. Beloved Husband of Catherine "Cathy" Gryczan happily married for 35 years. Loving Father to Nicholas "Cole" Gryczan, Dylan Gryczan and Tatiana Gryczan. Loved Son-In-Law to James C. Copeland, Sr. and the late Ella G. Copeland. Fond Brother-In-Law to Carole Copeland (John Ohnemus), Christina Copeland, James C. Copeland, Jr., and Jeffrey (Chrystal) Copeland. Proud Uncle to Alexia (Mac) Gardon, Evan Ohnemus, Anna Krook Copeland, Taylor Copeland, Bram Copeland and Kelly Hudson. Doting "Grandpa" to Tatiana's beautiful German Shepard dog, Duna.
Garry lived a life marked by dedication to his family and a deep commitment to community. Garry's legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and the many people he made a difference to through his years of service to numerous community organizations and in his work. He will be missed by his family and many dear friends who will cherish his memory.

Member of Indian Guides. Member of Mount Carmel High School Fathers' Club. Coach extraordinaire to many youth tee ball, softball, baseball, and basketball teams. Biggest fan to his children in any of their chosen activities whether it be band, sports, scouts or other adventure. Expert RV driver for two memorable family road trips to tour western states and national parks.
In retirement (which he declared he was ready for upon learning of his recent sudden illness), Garry had planned to take the time to restore his red 1965 Ford Mustang, improve his golf game, go fishing (including with his fishing magnet), rake the rocks from the Lake Michigan beach by his lake facing Coastland Coop that he and Cathy had been readying to live in and continue enthusiastically embracing life through experiences with family, friends and others in the community.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, 3:00-8:00 PM at Sullivan's Funeral Home, 60 South Grant Street,
Hinsdale, IL 60521.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, 10:00 AM at St. Paul VI Parish, Riverside, IL 60546. Private Interment.
