Garry Langston Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Natchez Trace Funeral Home, Memorial Park Cemetery & Crematory - Madison on Mar. 27, 2026.
Garry Owen Langston unexpectedly passed away on February 8, 2026 at the age of 43. He was born on April 19, 1982 to Garry Gene Langston and Melissa Kay Langston in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Garry never met a stranger - he talked to everyone and genuinely cared about those close to him. His finest skill in life was his ability to carry on a conversation like no one else. He was everyone's go to phone call if they were trying to pass the time on a long car ride. The "Garry podcast" as some liked to call it. It was a true gift, and he helped those close to him through hard times because he was always just a phone call away and no matter how much time had passed, he would always pick up right where he left off.

He found peace outdoors by hunting and fishing. He loved working with his hands and took pride in fixing up and working on guns, a skill he was passionate about and enjoyed doing with others. To his nephews he was Bear and to his friends he was Teddy Bear. A gentle giant and one that was truly in your corner if you needed him.

Though his journey was not an easy one, he was deeply loved in his short time on this earth. Those who knew him best will always remember his commitment to friendship and his loyalty to those who earned his trust and stood by him in the end.

Garry is preceded in death by his father Garry Gene Langston. Garry leaves behind his mother, Melissa K. Langston; his sister, Ashley (Andrew) Shapley of Brandon, MS; and his three nephews, Weston Shapley, Sawyer Shapley, Bennett Shapley; and a host of extended friends who loved him deeply. Though he has gone on to join those who passed before him, he will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held at the Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery on Thursday February 12, 2026 at 10:00am.

In honor of his love for fishing and in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the C.A.S.T for Kids Foundation.
