After moving back to Midland, Texas he began working for the Bridgewater family at Midland Savings and Loan and later was transferred to the DFW area where he was employed by Equitable Savings in 1971. In 1973, he and Molly moved to Lubbock, Texas where he opened the first state wide approved branch of a savings and loan,.
After living in Lubbock and making some wonderful life long friends, they moved to Del Rio where he became President of First Savings and Loan in 1975, and their one and only child, Summer, was born in 1979.
After First Savings was sold in the 1980's, they moved to the DFW area where he worked until being transferred to run a new savings and loan in San Antonio.
