Garth Alan Wellshear passed peacefully on Christmas morning in his home.
Garths greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was his family. He was a devoted and involved father who rarely missed any event in his children's lives. He coached many of the sports events they played and was respected as a coach who genuinely cared about helping his players succeed.
He shared more than 30 years with his wife, Jackie, whom he loved fiercely and protected with unwavering devotion. He treated both his own mother and mother in law with deep respect and kindness.
Garth found new and profound happiness in his grandchildren and proudly accepted the nickname "Bulba" from his grandson.
An accomplished golfer, he served many years as a golf professional at Hot Springs Village before joining the Hooters/Jordan Pro Tour. He began his career under the guidance of Roger Kluska, whom he considered a 2nd father.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie; children, Corbin (Shelby) and Sydney(Murphy); grandchildren, Eric, Aubry and Evie; brother, Thad(Amy); brother in law, Dennis Jester; sister in law, Karen Smith and many nieces and nephews.
Proceeded in death by parents, Robert D. and Toni M. Wellshear and sister, Margo Louderback.
Garth lived life on his own terms. He loved deeply, lived fully and left no question that his family was his world.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
